7 Savoy Court is a Grade II listed building, which is adjacent to the famous Savoy Hotel built in 1889 designed by Richard D’Oyly Carte. The building offers eight floors of office space in which four have had extensive strip out works undertaken. The property is located on the south side of the Strand in the City of Westminster and is a short walk from Charing Cross station.
The client brief was to undertake a comprehensive strip out of vacated tenant office space situated over 4 floors of the occupied tenant building. Works included a complete strip out of all internal finishes including metal pan ceilings, raised access floors, toilets blocks, kitchen & tea points, walls and partitions; returning the office space to open plan layouts.
This was a particularly high level project due to the neighbouring prestigious Savoy Hotel. Special attention and responsibility was focused on the cleanliness and protection of the building’s main reception area and shared covered approach to the prominent hotel entrance. Savoy Court remained occupied throughout the construction phase programme. All noisy works were undertaken out of business hours, with material deliveries and waste removals undertaken between midnight and 7am on a daily basis, leaving the building ready for usual business by 7:30am. With careful management and planning of the construction phase, the comprehensive strip out programme of 7 weeks was achieved.
